Newlyr ("we", "us", "our") is an AI-powered vocal replacement tool available at newlyr.com. We are operated as an independent product. For any privacy questions, contact us at rishabhsapra13@gmail.com.

2. What Data We Collect

We collect the minimum data necessary to provide our service:

• Audio files you upload — songs you submit for stem separation. These are sent to our AI processing partner (Lalal.ai) and are deleted from our servers immediately after processing.
• Voice recordings you make — replacement words you record in the browser. These are processed locally and sent to our servers only during the merge step, then deleted immediately.
• Payment information — processed entirely by Razorpay. We never see, store, or touch your card details.
• Email address — collected at signup for account management and essential product communications only.
• IP address and usage logs — collected automatically for security, rate limiting, and abuse prevention. Retained for 30 days maximum.

3. What We Do NOT Collect

• We do not track you across other websites
• We do not sell your data to any third party
• We do not use your audio for AI training
• We do not store your songs or recordings after processing is complete
• We do not use advertising cookies or third-party advertising networks

4. Third-Party Services

To operate Newlyr, we use the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy:

• Lalal.ai — stem separation (vocals/instrumental splitting). Audio is transmitted to their servers for processing. See lalal.ai/privacy.
• AssemblyAI — lyrics transcription. Audio URL is sent to their API. See assemblyai.com/privacy.
• Railway — backend hosting. See railway.app/legal/privacy.
• Netlify — frontend hosting. See netlify.com/privacy.
• Razorpay — payment processing. See razorpay.com/privacy.

5. How We Use Your Data

We use your data only to:

• Provide the Newlyr service (stem separation, lyrics, recording, merging)
• Manage your account and subscription
• Send essential service communications (receipts, account alerts)
• Prevent abuse and protect the security of our service
• Comply with legal obligations

6. Data Retention

• Audio files — deleted immediately after processing (within minutes)
• Voice recordings — deleted immediately after the merge is complete
• Account data — retained while your account is active, deleted within 30 days of account deletion
• Server logs — retained for 30 days for security purposes, then deleted
• Payment records — retained for 7 years as required by Indian tax law

7. Your Rights Under India's DPDPA

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDPA, 2023), you have the following rights:

• Right to access — request a summary of personal data we hold about you
• Right to correction — request correction of inaccurate personal data
• Right to erasure — request deletion of your personal data
• Right to withdraw consent — withdraw consent for processing at any time
• Right to grievance redressal — raise a complaint with us or the Data Protection Board of India

8. Children's Privacy

Newlyr is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us at rishabhsapra13@gmail.com and we will delete it immediately.

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), rate limiting on all API endpoints, environment-variable-based secret management, and regular security reviews.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or a notice on our website. Continued use of Newlyr after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
